The French comics world is in mourning. The comic book author Patricia Lyfoung died, her publisher Delcourt announced on Wednesday January 15, 2025, without specifying the causes of her disappearance. She had 47 ans.
At the origin of “The Scarlet Rose” and “The Mythics”
“The Delcourt group learned with deep sadness of the disappearance of Patricia Lyfoung which occurred today, January 15, at the age of 47,” the press release indicates.
This French author of Laotian origin was known for her style mixing European and Japanese influencesin the series The Scarlet Rose et Les Mythics.
“An exceptional artist, endowed with rare talent”
Its editor praised “an exceptional artist, endowed with rare talent to tell stories that transcend ages and cultures.” She had signed “nearly 60 titles” since 2005, all at Delcourt.
Her fans and comic book lovers were also able to meet her at literary fairs. She was one of the many authors invited to the Angoulême International Comics Festival at the end of January 2025.
