Almost twenty-four hours after winner Charlie Dalin, Yoann Richomme took second place in the Vendée Globe. The 41-year-old from Var crossed the finish line at precisely 7:12 a.m., completing his world tour in 65 days, 18 hours, 10 minutes and 02 seconds, the second best performance of all time.
This is a superb performance for the sailor, father of two children based in Larmor-Plage (Morbihan), who arrived in the Imoca category only two years ago with a very ambitious project carried out with Paprec -Arkea. Double winner of the Solitaire du Figaro, the sailor has made rapid progress in this new category.
The Vendée Globe podium should be completed by Sébastien Simon (Groupe Dubreuil) expected this Thursday in the Vendée city.
