Owen Hargreaves, commentating on the game for TNT Sports, has his say. “That’s a good question. I think it would be a great season for them.

“Obviously the position they’re in, people are talking about the title race. But I just thought that was a little bit premature for such a young team, one of the youngest in the league. They’ve been fantastic. Obviously of late, they’ve had a couple of results go against them, but this Chelsea team are building to be one of the best teams in the league for the next five years.

“I think they’re ahead of the curve at the moment, but I do think they need a couple of more experienced guys in there, just to help with this transition. It’s only going to help the players. Virtually every player in this team is 22, 23.”
