This Tuesday, François Bayrou announces his government's general policy declaration before the National Assembly. For its part, the Socialist Party announced that it no longer had the ambition to vote on the motion of censure carried by France Insoumise, the Ecologists and the Communist Party.

While the negotiations appeared to be deadlocked on Monday evening, Olivier Faure made a compromise “proposal” during the night to François Bayrou, the content of which he did not reveal, referring to the Prime Minister's speech, scheduled for 3 p.m. before the National Assembly.

This non-censorship agreement concerns the government's general policy declaration but also “the State budget” and “that of Social Security”.
“We are in the process of obtaining a number of concessions that I find remarkable because they make it possible to break with what we have censored, that is to say the Barnier budget,” he added.

The agreement would cover a vast series of budgetary subjects – taxation, health, elimination of positions in National Education – even if it is pension reform which is the crux of the discussions.
