TF1 deletes the report on a woman scammed by a fake Brad Pitt

Broadcast on the show “Sept à Huit”, a report showed a woman, named Anne, the victim of a grazer who pretended to be Brad Pitt.

The TF1 show “Seven to Eight” announced Tuesday that it had removed from all its platforms a report on a woman defrauded by a fake Brad Pitt and victim of cyberstalking since the subject was broadcast on Sunday.

A decision taken by mutual agreement with TF1, Elephant Production, a subsidiary of Webedia, and the woman mocked on social networks, Tech&Co has learned.

“The report broadcast this Sunday (January 12, 2025) sparked a wave of harassment against a witness. For the protection of the victims, we have decided to remove it from our platforms,” writes the program presented by Harry Roselmack on his X account.

A victim mocked on social networks

Named Anne and filmed on camera, the victim, aged around fifty, says she paid 830,000 euros to crooks who pretended to be Brad Pitt by sending him false selfies, falsified identity documents and using artificial intelligence to dispel his doubts.

Pretending to need money to pay for an operation for kidney cancer, the fake Brad Pitt managed to extract large sums from this woman, who is now ruined and has made three suicide attempts. According to the report from “Sept à Huit”, she filed a complaint and is currently hospitalized in an establishment specializing in serious depression.

Since the report was broadcast, she has been the subject of taunts from Internet users mocking her supposed gullibility on social networks like X and Tiktok.

TFC, the football club, posted a message on And you?”. Under fire from criticism, the L1 club then backtracked by presenting its “sincere apologies”.

Netflix posted a message on X listing four films available on its platform in which the American star appears. “4 films to see with Brad Pitt (promise) it’s a gift,” says the message. A publication since deleted from the platform.

The comedian and Inter columnist, Mathieu Noël, joked about Anne's fate in his morning post on Tuesday.
