Space El Clasico with Poles in the main roles!

Without any major problems, Real Madrid and FFC Barcelona advanced to the final of the Spanish Super Cup. The first El Clasico in 2025 took place in Saudi Arabia. For the first time with the participation of two Poles. Balugrana’s eleven included Wojciech Szczęsny and Robert Lewandowski. This match will go down in history not only because of the participation of our compatriots.

It seemed that Barcelona had a better start to the match and after four minutes they should have been leading by two goals. First, Lamine Yamal’s shot was deflected by Thibaut Courtois. After a while, the Belgian made a brilliant save by defending a header from Raphinha, who had four goals to the goal.

Real allowed Barcelona to run wild and launched a deadly counterattack in the 5th minute. Vinicius Junior played to Kylian Mbappe, who ran with the ball halfway across the field, deceived the defender in the penalty area and shot past Szczęsny.

Barcelona needed a few minutes to attack again. However, then the Royal Blaugranas did not allow as much as before. Real also did not pose a threat to their rivals.

Everything changed in the 22nd minute. Then Lewandowski made a great move by passing the ball to Lamine Yamala, who moved the ball. He found space to shoot in the penalty area and equalized the score with a precise shot at the post.

Three minutes later, Szczęsny showed up, defending Aurelien Tchouameni’s shot. Barcelona’s next few minutes were almost deadly. In the 35th minute, Gavi was kicked in the sixteen by Eduardo Camavinga. After the VAR analysis, the referee awarded a penalty kick, which was converted into a goal by Robert Lewandowski.

That wasn’t the end of the shooting in the 1st half. Jules Kounde played brilliantly in the 39th minute. Raphinha converted a long pass, which his opponents did not expect, into a goal. The referee added nine minutes to the first half.

In the fifth, Szczęsny saved his team, and in the tenth, Blaugrana launched a great counterattack. Raphinha started with the ball, passed it to Alex Balde in the penalty area, and he scored in a one-on-one situation to make it 4-1!

After the change of sides, initially there was still a lot going on on the pitch. In the 48th minute, after a great pass by Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo’s shot from ten meters hit the junction of the post and the crossbar! A moment later, Hansi Flick’s players rejoiced. After a counterattack, Raphinha beat Courtois with a shot from the penalty area.

5:2 for Barcelona and the end of emotions? None of these things. Seven minutes passed and Szczęsny bravely went outside the penalty area and instead of hitting the ball, he hit Mbappe’s leg, as he had done years ago during Euro 2012. After the VAR analysis, the referee showed the Pole a red card. Inaki Pena entered the goal and after a while he capitulated when Rodrygo took a beautiful free kick.

The Royals felt that they could still do something. However, time was passing faster and faster for Real. The Royal team were unable to threaten Blaugrana. The champions felt that the match was slipping away from them, Barcelona defended brilliantly. Pena didn’t have to intervene.

The referee added 5 minutes to the second half. This was not enough for the Spanish champions to lead to at least a penalty shootout. Mbappe had a chance in the 96th minute, but Pena showed he could defend in unlikely situations.
