Gerson Baldé confirmed short track Europeans with 8.11 meters in the long jump – Athletics

Portuguese Gerson Baldé confirmed his qualification for the European short track, in March in the Netherlands, with a mark of 8.11 meters in the long jump, which gave him victory in the Meeting Mário Moniz Pereira.

Saturday, at the Jamor High Performance Center, in Oeiras, district of Lisbon, the Benfica athlete confirmed his classification for Apeldoorn, winning a competition in which André Pimenta (Sporting) achieved 7.55 meters.

Portugal has already qualified directly for the short track European Championships João Coelho (400 meters), Isaac Nader (1,500 meters), Gerson Baldé (length), Pedro Pichardo and Tiago Luís Pereira (triple jump), in men’s, and Salomé Afonso (1,500 meters), Agate Sousa (length) and Jessica Inchude (weight), in the female category.

In the Lisbon Athletics Association test, note for the shot put, that Eliana Bandeira (Benfica) beat Jessica Inchude (Sporting) by one centimeter, with 17.69 meters, leaving Jessica Barreira (Sporting) in third place, with 14.94 meters, which is a personal record.

José Carlos Pinto (Benfica) won the 1,000 meters, with 2.20.48 minutes, Lorene Bazolo (Sporting) prevailed in the 60 meters, with 7.30 seconds (he achieved 7.28 in the semi-final), in which the Cuban Reynier Mena (Benfica ) was higher among men, with 6.64.
