“Warrants Another Court Case” – UFC Fans React as Conor McGregor Lands MMA Move on Soccer Opponent

Is the itch to fight getting to Conor McGregor? Has it gotten to a point where he’s pulling MMA moves on a different turf? The former UFC dual-weight champion argued that he would clash against Logan Paul in India this year but there have been no developments. Well, Logan Paul in one of his statements with WWE declared that he would not like to do side-gigs for the time being. So, does this mean the end of McGregor’s return? It appears so, but the former UFC champ doesn’t seem to care, as his latest antics have baffled the MMA community.

Just days after enjoying some cold “Forged Irish Stout” with the “Hells Angels,” Conor McGregor appears to have embraced a new sport to pass the time — Soccer. An Instagram account, “Home of Fight,” recently uploaded a video showcasing a ruthless Conor McGregor aggressively tackling his opponents during a soccer match. In the first clip, we could witness Conor McGregor aggressively lunging for the loose ball diving.

Moments later, the UFC fighter resorts to wrestling his opponent to the ground. Unsurprisingly, both actions were ruled as fouls. Well, the former UFC champ was playing for Black Forge FC, trading shots against Harding FC in a Premier Division matchup for the United Churches Football League (UCFL), which is an amateur soccer league in Dublin.

Taking to his X handle, Conor McGregor uploaded a photo of his soccer shoes with the caption: “I break jaws with my shoulder, and noses. I get the ball, any pitch, anywhere. Moses.” Witnessing the former UFC champ honing his skills in soccer shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering his background in the sport. McGregor played soccer for Lourdes Celtic’s youth team, his local football club in Dublin, Ireland, before transitioning to MMA. Conor McGregor might have enjoyed his time playing soccer but the MMA community appears to be not in the mood to entertain the former champ.

Fans have divided opinion on Conor McGregor’s soccer antics

Conor McGregor broke his left tibia and fibula during a fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in Las Vegas on July 10, 2021. He had a titanium rod inserted surgically, this is the primary reason why the UFC fighter has yet to embrace the Octagon. However, his playing soccer appears a bit motivating for the fans, “Titanium shinbon working wonders and some roids.” Furthermore, another social media user appears to be hoping for a clash between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor on the soccer field.“Khabib and McGregor at the sideman charity match. We will be there.”

Invoking the Nikita Hand Case, which nearly decimated Conor McGregor’s reputation to such an extent that he had to think of migrating to the USA, a fan sarcastically remarked that Conor McGregor would have to go in for another court case due to the way he handled his opponents: “First touch warrants another court case.”

From the video, it appears that McGregor was just trying to wrestle his opponents throughout the match as his tackles appear to be more centered on breaking the players rather than winning the ball, “The tackle lmao, bro went to break the guy’s legs.”

Furthermore, a fan finally came in support of the former UFC champ and asserted that he should remain out of combat sports, “He really juss living the life and people want him to get in the cage again pathetic.”

Last but not least, a fan is just assured that McGregor’s leg is doing fine, “At least his leg doing good.”
