Fans call for Vitor Pereira to ‘immediately sell’ Wolves first-teamer who lost possession seven times against Bristol City

Goals from Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rodrigo Gomes saw Wolves beat Bristol City and progress to the FA Cup Fourth Round.

Vitor Pereira named a strong starting lineup for Saturday’s game at Ashton Gate including a Wolves debut for Emmanuel Agbadou.

Two first-half goals from Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rodrigo Gomes set the tone of the tie, and despite Scott Twine pulling one back just before half-time, the Old Gold held on to win 2-1.

However, while fans compared Gomes to former winger Pedro Neto, another Wolves first-team player came under immense fire.

Hwang Hee-chan’s missed chances kept Bristol City in tie

Hwang Hee-chan was named in Pereira’s attack alongside Goncalo Guedes and Jorgen Strand Larsen, and playing Championship opposition, was expected to make an impact.

The South Korean’s performance massively disappointed though.

He was gifted two excellent opportunities to put the tie to bed. The chances, which came just after half-time and in the 72nd minute, saw the forward blast the ball over the bar on both occasions.

Eventually, put out of his misery, Pereira hauled the misfiring 28-year-old off in the 75th minute in favour of Pablo Sarabia, and fans wasted little time expressing their frustration.

Pereira urged to sell Hwang Hee-chan

Reacting to one of Hwang’s worst performances of the season, several fans on social media urged the Wolves manager to move the struggling forward on before the close of the January transfer window.

Hwang was a transfer target for West Ham but that was before Julen Lopetegui was sacked.

It now seems unlikely the Hammers will revisit signing Wolves’ number 11 after announcing Graham Potter has taken charge.

The underperforming forward, who has netted just two Premier League goals this season, has up to four-and-a-half years left on his contract but remains valued over £20 million (Transfermarkt).
