Grimace soup for Swiss slalom racers in Adelboden. Loïc Meilard got on, while only Daniel Yule, 10th at 1″38 from the Austrian Manuel Feller, who dominated the debates, limited the damage.
The red bib as leader of the discipline did not bring luck to Loïc Meillard. The Valaisan mounted at the entrance to the final wall while he was fighting with the best.
“Riding is part of the slalom, it hurts a little more in Adelbodenrecognized the Hérémence skier on the RTS microphone. It takes an hour or two to spend on that and refocus for tomorrow. It’s snowing and it’s wet and we hope it will be a little harder tomorrow for the giant“.
With a leader eliminated, the Swiss missed their point. Their best representative is called Daniel Yule (10th) and is 1”38 behind the lead.
Tanguy Nef, 20th at 2”28, Luca Aerni, 22nd at 2”39 and Marc Rochat, 23rd at 2”44, finally managed to qualify for the second round (live from 1:30 p.m. on RTS 2) despite their mixed performances. The three men benefited from a slope which deteriorated and therefore the skiers who left with bib numbers higher than 40 had no say in the matter. Finally, Ramon Zenhäusern continues his dark season. Haut-Valaisan was eliminated on the first route.
