The 69th Adelboden Ski Days at the Chuenisbärgli are on the program in the Bernese Oberland this weekend.
Due to the weather, the organizers decided on Wednesday to change the program and swap the race days. On Saturday, the slalom, which has been held since the turn of the millennium, is now on the program; on Sunday, the drivers start the traditional giant slalom, which is considered the most difficult in the world.
The five slaloms so far this winter have produced four different winners. Loïc Meillard is not one of them, but he has already climbed onto the podium four times and thanks to this consistency he will be starting as the discipline leader. The biggest competition comes from the Norwegian camp: In addition to the two season winners Henrik Kristoffersen and Timon Haugan, Atle Lie McGrath in particular is in top form. The 24-year-old left Madonna di Campiglio with a clear lead and has already been on the podium twice in Adelboden. (ram/sda)
