People’s Artist of Russia Evgenia Dobrovolskaya died at the age of 61. The Chekhov Moscow Art Theater reported this on January 10, Zakon.kz reports.
“Evgenia Dobrovolskaya has died. People’s Artist of Russia, truly beloved by the whole country. The leading actress of the Art Theater, who played dozens of leading roles on its stage for 33 years. Our Zhenya, infinitely talented and fearless and just as endlessly doubtful, unpredictable, extremely sincere, always real and in everything,” the theater said in a statement.
She has reportedly been battling a serious illness for the past year.
“She literally fought – stubbornly, without losing hope. But with all the thirst for life and stubbornness of spirit, her physical strength turned out to be finite. She is no longer in this world,” the Moscow Art Theater added.
Evgenia Dobrovolskaya was born on December 26, 1964 in Moscow. She graduated from GITIS and began her acting career at the Mossovet Theater, where she performed for more than ten years. Her theatrical debut became the starting point for a brilliant career in both theater and cinema.
Dobrovolskaya gained the greatest fame thanks to her roles in films and TV series: “St. Petersburg Secrets”, “Border. Taiga Romance”, “In the First Circle” and many others.
During her career, she has received numerous prizes and awards, including the title of People’s Artist of Russia, which she received in 2005.
Earlier it was reported that the famous Kazakh writer Mukhtar Magauin died in the USA.
