Jarry, a beloved comedian and actor, maintains a special link with Belgium. During his tours, he never fails to stop in Brussels, a city which inspires him and where he experiences moments as funny as they are moving. A look back at this complicit relationship between the artist and the flat country.
Back in Belgium for his new show “Bonhomme”, Jarry finds in each visit to Brussels an opportunity to experience unexpected adventures. “I really like walking through the streets and coming across funny situations. The last time, I came across a procession of the Brotherhood of Bald People from Brussels. Each time, I come across things that make me laugh a lot“he says.
When he’s not on stage, Jarry indulges in Belgian culinary delights. “That’s a lot of treats and calories.”he confides, laughing. Belgian gastronomy, with its waffles, chocolates and beers, seems to have won the artist’s heart.
Belgium, a special audience
“Belgium trusted me from the start of my career, I am very attached to the Belgians”. Jarry regularly plays in the country’s largest venues, such as the Cirque Royal or the Forum de Liège. With more than 20,000 spectators expected for his current tour, he measures the loyalty of his Belgian audience.
“This country is tolerant and lives in harmony, regardless of religion or skin color. You can be proud of your values”he adds with admiration.
