Slalom on Saturday, giant slalom on Sunday – this change poses challenges, especially for the fans in Adelboden.
At the weekend, the World Cup races at Chuenisbärgli will take place in an unusual order. This is hardly a problem for the ski cracks. Even if the slalom specialists have to start a day earlier after the night race in Madonna di Campiglio on Wednesday. “It makes no difference to me,” explained Daniel Yule. “As skiers, we are used to program changes.”
What is not a problem for the drivers could become one for the fans. The purchased tickets remain valid for the respective day. Anyone who was prepared for the giant slalom will now watch the slalom – and vice versa.
Lots of reactions
The change is particularly annoying for the fan clubs of the individual drivers. But a solution was found, as Damian Werlen, the president of Ramon Zenhäuser’s fan club, said: “Adelboden made us an offer that we would receive additional tickets for Saturday. Of course we accepted this offer.”
The fan clubs will still be able to support their favorites. This will be more difficult for the other supporters. A special hotline set up by the organizing committee in Adelboden has already been consulted hundreds of times. There was everything from angry calls to simple questions to positive feedback.

More fans on Saturday
The slalom riders will now be able to enjoy racing in front of around 25,000 spectators on Saturday. On Sunday there will be around 10,000 fewer. This will also be a change for Marco Odermatt and his giant slalom colleagues.
But the man from Nidwalden still has a positive outlook on the races. On

Odermatt wrote after the program change: “A great atmosphere is guaranteed in Adelboden anyway.” Despite the ticket problems, he will probably be right.
