BIG PHIL’S DENS DESPAIR | Celtic Quick News

PHILIPPE CLEMENT looked on in agony as his Ibrox side dropped two more points in a 1-1 stalemate with Dundee at Dens Park tonight.

The most recent deadlock leaves champions Celtic 15 points ahead at the Premiership pinnacle.

The Govan gaffer has now presided over his team picking up a mere three points from a possible 12 in away games either side of their win over Brendan Rodgers’ men at Ibrox last wek.

Before their shock derby success, they had lost 2-1 to St Mirren in Paisley and drew 2-2 with Motherwell at Fir Park. At the weekend they stalemated 3-3 with Hibs at Easter Road and they settled for a draw on Tayside on this occasion.

Oluwasseun Adewumi fired the home side into a sixth-minute advantage before there was a controversial moment before the interval.

Dundee claimed for a penalty-kick after Simon Murray had been clattered in the 34th minute, but while VAR were checking the flashpoint, Rangers broke upfield and Vaclav Cerny levelled with an angled drive past Trevor Carson.

The goal was given the go-ahead and the home side were out of luck again after the interval when Adewumi once more rattled a shot past Liam Kelly, but technical assistant Greg Aitken ruled Simon Murray had just been a shade offside in the build-up.

Brendan Rodgers’ men, of course, made no mistake against Dundee United with a 2-0 win last night and now face Ross County in Dingwall on Saturday afternoon.
