“I expected something else… First of all, after ten days, the coach who brought me in (Régis Brouard, Editor’s note.) is ousted. It’s still complicated even if the football adaptation went rather well. On the other hand, I was alone there, without my wife and my daughters and I struggled for a very long time to find accommodation… only to end up not finding it! So, AirBNB for six months, the family during the school holidays. So I made the decision to stop because I couldn’t see myself continuing like that. It’s something that we kept between us, my wife and I, until the maintenance acquired by the club because it was the most important thing. From there, once the maintenance was obtained, there were 15 days of competition left and I made an appointment with my president: I did not ask anything from the club because the proposal that had been made to me at the base was very respectful. I explained my situation, I had one year left on my contract, we shook hands and I took the time to think afterwards. »

-« I left myself alone for 15 days, time to settle down and see if I missed the professional world. Previously, I had already had contact with Pouzauges and I contacted the president again when I felt ready. I had asked my agents not to take any new steps because I didn’t know if I was going to find a sporting and human project that I would like in the professional world. Of course, I knew it was going to end one day but I was the one who made the decision so I have no regrets. After 17 years at this level, it was important to return to “real” things, like enjoying my daughters, my wife, my loved ones. »
