Rivages is undoubtedly the series not to be missed at the start of the year!

Led by Fleur Geffrier, this ecological thriller follows the story of Abigail, an oceanographer sent by IFREMER to Fécamp, her hometown. His mission? Investigate the inexplicable sinking of a trawler and the disappearance of its fishermen.

But as her research progresses, new mysterious phenomena occur at sea. Abigail will then understand that these disasters could have their origin in an underwater presence capable of upsetting the fragile balance between man and nature… And if the cause of these disturbances corresponded to nothing known?

Throughout her investigations, Abigail is led to sail at sea and dive in order to unravel the mysteries of this underwater entity.

Did Fleur Geffrier really film underwater?

The answer is yes!

To play this demanding role, Fleur Geffrier did not hesitate to give her body and soul. Indeed, the actress passed her maritime code, her boat license and completed her first dive in just a month and a half. An investment that allowed her to perform all the scenes at sea herself without using a double.

Whether underwater or on the surface, on boats or in the storm, it's her. I am very proud“, David Hourrègue confirmed during a press briefing at the Fiction Festival last September.

If in the series Fleur Geffrier dives and navigates without the slightest difficulty, she still had a little apprehension before starting filming the series.

On this subject, the actress explained on Allociné's microphone, “When I started, that's finally when I realized that I was taming the element of water. It was going pretty well and I really wanted to do it because it's a great challenge to be able to do my own stunts and to be able to shoot everything without a stunt double. It's a real gift. And then David Hourrègue is someone extraordinary. He has this ability to take us with him. We no longer feel cold when we are with him“.

On the set, the actress is not the only one to have given of herself. Indeed, David Hourrègue, who spent three years of his life at sea when he was a child, also dove to be as close as possible to his characters.

By his own admission, “It was a pact with Fleur. If she dives, I dive. I think I'll go crazy waiting on my boat. I had to retrain. We experienced quite rare moments of visual connections at a distance. Sign language helped us a lot. There is a very fraternal bond that has been established between us and which has shaken us well.“.

Find Rivages, every Monday evening from 9:10 p.m. on France 2.
