Without the slightest problem, the Merengue disposed of CD Minera this Monday in the round of 16 of the Spanish Cup.
A job well done. With Kylian Mbappé and other executives left on the bench at kick-off (Vinicius, Rodrygo, Bellingham, Mendy, Tchouaméni), Real Madrid quietly dictated its law this Monday, on the lawn of the 4th division resident on CD Minera, in the region of Murcia, in the round of 16 of the Spanish Cup. 5-0 victory for the Merengue, who presented a very young defense, a Modric-Valverde-Camavinga midfielder and an attacking trio Güler-Endrick-Diaz.
From the 5th minute, the Uruguayan Valverde broke the deadlock with a beautiful volley at the far post before the break goal signed by Eduardo Camavinga, with a header, on a cross from Fran Garcia at the penalty spot (13th). Very quickly overwhelmed, the Minera premises conceded a third goal, the work of the Turk Güler (28th). At the break, the main thing was (already) provided by the reigning Spanish and European champion.
Just half an hour for Mbappé
Returning from the locker room, without Valverde replaced by Ceballos, Carlo Ancelotti's men managed their business until coaching time. Luka Modric scored his solo goal (55th, 0-4) then, in the 63rd minute, Mbappé, Vazquez, Vinicius and young Chema Andrès entered the field to play the last half hour. A slow end to the match – with a double for Güler in the process (88th) – and without a hitch for Real and its stars, who reach the round of 16 of the Spanish Cup. A stage already reached this weekend by Athletic Bilbao, Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona among others. From Thursday (8 p.m.), the Madrilenians will return to the field, in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup. A match planned in… Saudi Arabia, at the King Abdullah stadium in Jeddah.
