Storm Floriane: 40,000 homes without electricity, including 3,700 in Île-de-

The passage of storm Floriane has consequences on the electricity network. At the start of this Monday afternoon, at least 40,000 homes were deprived of electricity, according to information from Le Parisien.

Enedis, in charge of managing the electricity distribution network, explains that the outages mainly concern regions which have been targeted by orange vigilance (level 3 out of 4) from Météo due to the wind. Centre-Val de , Île-de-France and are the most affected. 3,700 homes are without power in the Ile-de-France region, mainly in the Seine-et- department.

In anticipation of bad weather, the manager had “pre-mobilized technical teams this weekend”. They “are on the ground to resupply impacted households as quickly as possible”.

According to data from INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies), the composition of a household is approximately 2.15 people. So around 85,000 people are without electricity at the start of the week.

Enedis reminds that the wind continues to blow strongly, even if the orange vigilance has gradually been lifted in most of the affected departments. The company therefore warns that the situation “remains evolving”.

She reminds you of some safety measures to follow, such as not touching a fallen electrical wire. She also emphasizes the need not to touch an object in contact with a power line. “Incidents and anomalies” on the network can be reported at any time to 09 726 750 followed by the two numbers corresponding to the department concerned.
