Ferdi Baba passed away… The first message from his ex-wife Necla Nazır

Sad news came from Ferdi Tayfur, who left his mark on arabesque music with his songs such as 'HATIRAN Enough', 'Emmoğlu', 'Bana Sor', 'Sabahçı Kahvesi'. The 'Ferdi Baba' of music died yesterday evening at Medical Park Hospital in Antalya, where he had been receiving treatment for a while. The 79-year-old artist fell ill at his home in Muğla-Marmaris on December 15 and was taken to the hospital. He was then sent to Antalya by ambulance plane, where he underwent sinus surgery. The condition of Ferdi Tayfur, whose treatment continued in intensive care, worsened, and despite all efforts, the artist died at 19.38 yesterday. In the statement made by the hospital, it was stated that Tayfur's cause of death was liver and kidney failure. Tayfur's fans gathered in front of the hospital after the news of his death. It was stated that the artist had previously had a stent inserted into his brain vessel during surgery performed in a hospital in Antalya. Ferdi Tayfur, who previously received dialysis treatment, had his son's kidney transplanted in 2020.

Ferdi Tayfur was born on November 15, 1945 in Adana. His father, Cumali Turanbayburt, named him after the theater and dubbing artist Ferdi Tayfur, whom he admired. Ferdi Tayfur, who had to leave school after his father's murder, contributed to his family's livelihood by working on the farm. When he was 16, he went to Istanbul with the dream of becoming a singer. When he could not find what he expected, Tayfur returned to Adana and continued farming. In 1968, he came to Istanbul again and made a two-record deal with Seda Plak. The artist, who wrote unforgettable songs in his music career such as 'Gönül Yorgunu', 'Emmoğlu', 'Çeşme', 'Don't worry about you', 'I Miss You Too', 'Huzurum Kalması', won 9 Golden Record awards. Tayfur, who also acts as an actor, appeared in more than 30 films in Turkish cinema. The artist, who founded the Ferdifon Plakçılık company in 1982, also entered the construction industry in 2009.

The artist's ex-wife Necla Nazır, who received the sad news, said: “I am very sorry, he was my life partner of 33 years and the father of my child. I am truly sorry, may he rest in peace. “My Lord took him with him on Regaip Kandili, which means he was a valuable person,” he said.

Ferdi Tayfur's funeral ceremony will be held tomorrow at 12.00 at AKM in Istanbul. Later, after the afternoon funeral prayer at Emirgan Çınaraltı Mosque, he will be buried in Yeniköy Cemetery.
