Falls possible from 400 m altitude

“We should not expect the department to be white,” puts Christophe Mertz, meteorologist at Météo News, into perspective. These falls will take place rather at low altitude, from 400 meters, with between 1 to 3 centimeters possible. “The higher we go, the more snow we will have, particularly between 10 and 20 cm at the Servance balloon,” explains the meteorologist. “On the Vesoul side, it’s not said that we see snow.” On Gray's side, snowflakes are not on the agenda at all.

Watch out for icy conditions overnight from Saturday to Sunday

On the other hand, you will have to remain vigilant on the roads, because the snow and ice alert will be maintained until 12 p.m. this Friday. “Temperatures will become negative, before gradually rising again. During the night from Saturday to Sunday, before temperatures rise, there could be an episode of freezing rain or snow lasting a few hours,” explains Christophe Mertz.

This Saturday morning, temperatures will be seasonal with -4° in Vesoul and Luxeuil, and up to -6° in Jussey. “We are seeing seasonal weather and temperatures, without extreme mildness or major cold snaps,” analyzes the meteorologist. As for snowy episodes: “We rarely have snow in the plains. At the end of November, things were out of the ordinary. This much snow this early in the season is quite rare.”
