Winnterzuko, a French artist, appealed for help and prayers for his mother Djamilya, who was among the victims of the plane crash in Kazakhstan on Wednesday. Seriously injured, she “still did not wake up” several hours after the accident.

“We think it only happens to others, but no one is safe.” French rapper Winnterzuko, known in particular for the title “Frissons” with Adèle Castillon and “Off”, shared a call for help on his Instagram account. His mother, Djamilya, was on the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, which crashed yesterday, Wednesday December 25. In the crash, 38 people died and several hundred others were seriously injured.

“She is one of the survivors, but she is in critical condition as we speak. I don't usually ask this, but we definitely have more recourse. I ask you to make duas (prayer asking Allah to grant one's wishes in Islam, Editor's note) for her,” wrote the artist.

On Wednesday, this plane, an Embraer 190, which was operating a flight between Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, and Grozny, capital of the Russian Caucasian republic of Chechnya, crashed before catching fire, with 67 people on board.

An investigation is underway and some military and aviation experts have said the aircraft, which was flying over an area of the Russian Caucasus where a drone attack was reported, may have been accidentally shot down by a Russian air defense system. “It would be inappropriate to make any assumptions prior to the findings of the investigation. We will not do it and no one should do it,” the Kremlin said on Thursday.
