A little over a year after the events, three young people aged just twenty were tried before the 6th criminal chamber of the Évry-Courcouronnes judicial court for organized gang theft et aggravated violence on Monday December 16, 2024. On October 11, 2023, with other acquaintances not prosecuted by the courts, they had landed in the middle of the night in a dead end in Villebon-sur-Yvette (Essonne) for recover with strength, and scooter who had been to them stolen.

A group of young people from -sous- decide to take justice into their own hands

They are dock drivers, delivery drivers and employees in a cleaning company, all on permanent contracts.

Their criminal record is not provided, except for one of them, who had been taken out of prison, to answer for his actions.

These young people from Clichy-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis) have no not the profile of repeat offenders.

And yet, when they are victims of a theft, they do not go to the police station, they heat their cell phones to round up their friends, and leave in gangs to take justice into their own hands.

He finds his stolen scooter on Leboncoin

This is what happened to Yassine and his acolytes. At the end of summer 2023, it had his Yamaha Tmax scooter stolen, in a street in Clichy-sous-Bois.

A few weeks later, he finds a photo of his scooter on the site leboncoin and calls the seller. After this exchange, the next day, the photo disappears from this online sales site.

The police investigation, like the debates at the hearing, did not not clarified the circumstances by which a group of at least ten individuals arrived at Chemin du Bois Courtin, away from the town of Villebon-sur-Yvette, one autumn evening at 11:10 p.m.

After a fight, they leave with the scooter

According to statements from victims who were not present at the hearing, they were carrying out repairs on a scooter when around ten armed individuals knives, telescopic batons and a sawn-off shotgun emerged from a Clio and a Twingo to do battle.

A fight begins, blows are exchanged, phones snatched. The attackers flee while Kaba gets on the scooter, hits the gas and flees into the night.

The latter will be flashed a few minutes later on the road which leads him to Clichy-sous-Bois, back with his loot.

Yassine and Essamni did not escape the police investigation either. The first was quick caught up by his telephone exchanges with one of the victims.

The second was arrested a few minutes after the events on the parking at McDonald's from Villebon-sur-Yvette, after being identified by the victims who accompanied a police escort.

No weapon will be found in his vehicle. During the investigation, he will be placed in pre-trial detention.

One of the victims was prescribed 31 days of ITT

At the bar of the court, he acknowledges his participation : “I went up with my car to the end of the cul-de-sac, but there was no one there,” he admits, as evidenced by the geolocation of his cell phone.

The other two defendants are remained vague on the exact circumstances of this organized punitive expedition.

The latter was very violent since the injuries of one of the victims caused him 31 days of total incapacity for work.

Two of the three defendants convicted, the third acquitted

“This file is that of the law of retaliation, an eye for an eye, a motorcycle for a motorcycle,” the prosecutor squeaked during her submissions, demanding prison sentences for the defendants.

Only Essamni was acquitted for lack of evidence following the deliberations. The two other defendants were sentenced : one to two years in prison, including 18 months suspended, the other to two years in prison, including twelve months suspended.
