Gregor who? Some people probably asked themselves this question on Saturday in the sold-out Düsseldorf exhibition hall. Helene Fischer invited the likeable singer to her big “Helene Fischer Show”. Alongside stars like Robbie Williams, Florian Silbereisen and Hape Kerkeling, the 24-year-old was one of the newcomers to the ZDF show.
However, that didn't mean that Hägele wouldn't deliver like an old show business hand. Together with Helene Fischer he sang his song “Bisschen mehr” and not only got the audience in Düsseldorf on his side, but also impressed the pop queen. “You’re so great,” enthused Helene after their joint appearance. What an accolade for the man who was eliminated in the semifinals of “The Voice of Germany” in 2017.

However, the day after his big performance, Hägele apologized to his fans. The singer reported via Instagram: “So dear darlings, sorry that I've been a bit quiet here the last few days. I was a bit busy with a wonderful production that I got to be a part of. I think I’ll be able to say more about that soon.”
Which production that was…
A little later, Gregor was able to officially announce it.
Participation in the ESC didn’t work
However, it was not the first major appearance of the Stuttgart native. In 2023 he opened a National Football League game in Frankfurt am Main, sang the German national anthem there, and the day after the “Helene Fischer Show” Hägele sang for the fans of the Füchse Berlin handball club. Hägele also accompanied stars such as Adel Tawil, Alexander Knappe, Michael Schulte, Johannes Oerding, Max Giesinger and Madeline Juno on their tours.
And Gregor had already tried his luck at the ESC. In 2019, the Stuttgart native tried out for the German preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel with his single “Let Me Go”. However, Hägele only managed sixth place and was therefore second to last. By the way, the duo S!sters, who also came second to last in Tel Aviv, won back then.
