Far from being among the favorites, Chalon-sur-Saône is part of a huge cohort of outsiders ahead of the Trophée des Villes de pétanque, from January 9 to 12 at the Boulodrome du Douaisis. For the occasion, the Burgundian team is made up of Emmanuel Lucien, Lucas Desport, Fabrice Uytterhoeven and Bastien Cortier.
Winner of the Trophée des Villes in 2002 and then in 2013, Emmanuel Lucien has made a good habit of winning an edition in each decade. In good shape, recent winner of the National of Orléans, the sidekick of the Quintais – Suchaud duo will be the strong man and the guarantee of experience of the Chalonnais quartet.
Lucas Desport among the most anticipated players
To support him in his task, Emmanuel Lucien can count on an elite shooter in the person of Lucas Desport. Increasingly regular over the seasons, the latter intends to end the season by leaving its mark on a major competition. Same objective for Fabrice Uytterhoeven, just returned from the world championships in Dijon, contested under the Belgian jersey.
To complete this team, Chalon-sur-Saône counts on Bastien Cortier as a player under 22 years old. Regular at the departmental and regional level, the young nugget of the Ppond Mâconnaise could reveal itself to the general public during this Trophée des Villes.
