The gendarmes of the Grand Gallargues motorway platoon are responsible for the investigation to determine the complex origin of the fatal accident which occurred in Milhaud on the A9. Several vehicles involved.
This Wednesday, December 25, in the evening, investigations were still underway by the Grand Gallargues gendarmerie platoon, whose teams are responsible for establishing the course of this complex accident, where a 35-year-old woman lost her life in a collision.
Six other people injured
The tragedy occurred near the town of Milhaud, in the Nîmes-Montpelier direction, around 3 a.m. Although the exact circumstances still remain unclear, two light vehicles and a 19-ton heavy goods vehicle, running empty, were involved.
Gard firefighters intervened in large numbers on Christmas Day for a dramatic human toll, with in addition to the death of a 35-year-old young woman who was thrown from a vehicle and hit, three elderly members of the same family aged 17, 22 and 41, the 30-year-old driver of the heavy goods vehicle and two witnesses to the accident, a 37-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, had to be taken care of by the emergency services.
The victim's companion went to the scene
According to our information, the victim's companion went to the scene in the night shortly after the accident and saw the damaged vehicles and elements which caused him a traumatic shock which required treatment to be given to him. This man had to be transported to the Nîmes University Hospital so that doctors could treat the traumatic emotional shock.
The 35-year-old victim lived in Bezouce. An autopsy could be ordered to find out the exact cause of death.
