Aged 55 and cardiologist, Yannick Neuder was appointed Minister responsible for Health and Access to Care. It is attached to the Ministry of Labor and Health, attributed to Catherine Vautrin. LR deputy for Isère and general rapporteur of the PLFSS 2025, he is on the 7thth to occupy this position since the re-election of Emmanuel Macron.
This is the first ministerial mandate of Yannick Neuder who has until now, in addition to his functions as a deputy, only held local mandates: regional councilor of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, mayor of Saint-Étienne-de-Saint -Geoirs and president of the Bièvre Isère community of communes. A doctor by training, he is well aware of the challenges of the sector and has been at the origin of several legislative proposals aimed at facilitating access to care. He distinguished himself in particular for having tabled and adopted in the National Assembly the PPL aimed at improving access to care through territorialization and training. This text, whose legislative process was interrupted, aimed to make effective the removal of the numerus clausus of doctors, to facilitate the reintegration into France of French people studying medicine abroad, and to create bridges to allow paramedics to resume accelerated medical studies.
These proposals seem to show a certain openness on the part of Yannick Neuder towards possible extensions of the role of non-medical health professionals to facilitate access to care, particularly in the medical deserts that he promises to combat. “ In the same spirit of co-construction as in Parliament as general rapporteur, I will commit to giving France the means to meet the many challenges facing us: the fight against medical desertification, the aging of the population, support for our health establishments and professions, ambitious prevention policy, health sovereignty », declared the new Minister of Health, whose first challenge will be to adopt a viable budget for Social Security.
