$1 million Mega Millions prize won in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge woman won a $1 million Mega Millions prize, according to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation.

The woman matched five of the six Mega Millions numbers during the Tuesday, December 17 drawing and will take home $717,507 after state and federal tax withholdings. The winning numbers for the December 17 drawing were 55, 66, 67, 68, and 69, and the Mega Ball was 18.

The woman purchased her ticket from Town South Food Mart on Starring Lane. The store will get a selling bonus of $10,000.

Two other people in Louisiana have also recently won big in Mega Millions drawings. According to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, A $1 million winning ticket was sold at a Circle K in Shreveport for the Tuesday, September 24 drawing, and a $3 million winning ticket was sold at One Stop Convenience in Baldwin for the Tuesday, November 26 drawing.

The Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $1 billion ahead of tonight’s drawing. The prize is the seventh largest in the game’s history.

Lottery officials remind the public that a person must be at least 21 years old to buy a lottery ticket. In addition, draw-style game tickets must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing.
