The current deputy general director of the Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) Olivier Sichel, who is of Colmar origin, was appointed interim general director of the institution after the appointment of Eric Lombard to the Ministry of the Economy of the new Bayrou government.
Mr. Sichel, Deputy Managing Director of the Caisse des Dépôts and Director of the Banque des Territories (an entity of the Caisse des Dépôts group), “will ensure the daily management of the institution and the steering of its general interest missions, while continuing to support ongoing strategic projects,” indicates the CDC in a press release.
Eric Lombard, who until then was director general of the CDC, became Minister of the Economy and Finance on Monday.
Several feats of arms
Arriving at the Caisse des Dépôts at the end of 2017, this economic technician's achievements include the creation of the Banque des Territoires, the catastrophic recovery of Orpea (today Emeis) and the merger between CNP Assurances and the Postal Bank.
In its press release, “Caisse des Dépôts warmly thanks Eric Lombard for his dedication and strategic vision during his years at the head of the institution”.
Olivier Sichel “will continue our joint action, and I know that his attachment to the Caisse des Dépôts and his deep knowledge of elected officials are major assets for continuing missions of general interest,” Eric Lombard commented on Tuesday on X.
Born April 30, 1967 in Strasbourg, graduate of ENA, Olivier Sichel joined the CDC in 2018.
