Finally a little stability for the real estate sector, including individual buyers and investors! Appointed last September by Michel Barnier, Valérie Létard, former UDI (Union of Independent Democrats) deputy, who shares the social sensitivity of the president of Modem (Democratic Movement) and Prime Minister François Bayrou, will play the extensions within her government, has announced the Elysée this Monday, December 23. Between Olivier Klein, Patrice Vergriete, Guillaume Kasbarian and Valérie Létard, therefore, no less than four housing ministers have followed one another over the last two years…

THE calls for its renewal had multiplied since the censorship of Michel Barnier's government. “Without denigrating the five other Ministers of Housing that we had for four years, I believe that we cannot do better than Valérie Létard, Olivier Salleron, president of the French Building Federation (FFB), said on December 17. When we cannot do better, we must not only maintain it but also encourage it.” And the boss of the FFB warns: “ It would be a huge disappointment and another blow on the head (after the censorship of the Barnier government) if Valérie Létard were to leave the government.

The expansion of the zero-rate loan in the next 2025 budget?

“Today, they are consensus figures like her whom we need and with whom we can move forward. And she’s a technician”declared Loïc Cantin, president of Fnaim, during the federation congress in early December. “When you have four ministers in two years, you do nothing”Cécile Duflot, former Minister of Housing, added during the same congress. And to emphasize that “It’s such a heavy sector that it needs long-term guidance. Because professionals need visibility”.

Professionals but also individuals, in particular candidates for property ownership, who were delighted with the extension of the zero-rate loan to the whole country and to individual houses, supported by Valérie Létard in the project of finance law for 2025, since buried by the censorship of the Barnier government. The minister also spoke out in favor of exemption from free transfer taxes for family donations intended to finance buying a new home. Measures that many households would like to find in the new finance bill for 2025 that the new Bayrou government will have to develop. Good news, during his interview on on December 19, the Prime Minister seemed to regret that the censorship of his predecessor delayed the entry into force of the extension of the zero-rate loan.
