Sven Kums has once again put his creativity in the spotlight. In collaboration with artist Jurgen Massi, Kums made an impressive LEGO portrait of Pommelien Thijs, as part of the campaign surrounding De Warmste Week.
The 'Kumst' project, which Kums launched in October, is all about creating works of art from LEGO. For the former footballer, art is a way to relax, reflect and express his emotions in a creative way.
The portrait of Pommelien Thijs is one of the many works of art that Kums has created recently. He previously built the Ghent mascot, as well as a LEGO image of Milicevic and Depoitre.
Kums' artworks often contain multiple layers and hidden messages that enhance the story behind the artwork. The LEGO portrait of Pommelien Thijs is a perfect example of this. Her MIAs and various symbols of her songs are discussed.
In addition to the portrait of Thijs, Kums also recreated the iconic flame from De Warmste Week in LEGO. The LEGO works can be won by sending a text message to the number of De Warmste Week, with the proceeds going to charity.
The campaign of De Warmste Week is nearing its end. Today there are again moments of solidarity and warmth, with Jeroen Meus assessing the soup and the players of Cercle Brugge presenting a check.
