The cyclo-cross class was allowed to go on a three-day event just before Christmas. Today the final part of those 3 days of cross was on the menu at the Zilvermeer in Mol.
Saturday was for Marie Schreiber, yesterday Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado triumphed. Today she once again emphasized that the latter has found her best legs again.
She slid along well with Lucinda Brand and Inge van Der Heijden at the start and opened the throttle a few times along the way.
Van der Heijden's motorcycle exploded first, a little later Brand was also seen. Alvarado made clever use of a sand hill that the Dutch champion had been having problems with round after round.
A minute later, Brand literally bit the sand. She fell, the gap was finally closed. Brand tried again, but never got back on the wheel.
So two out of two for Alvarado just before Christmas. She extends her lead in the Superprestige classification and has now won 4 of the 5 heats.
