Coupe de – Huard: “As luck would have it, Balerdi fell on him”

Laurent Huard, interim Saint-Etienne coach, gave his feelings on the big defeat conceded by his troops against OM (0-4). The technician regrets the expulsion of Ibrahim Sissoko in the first period, following a clash with Leonardo Balerdi.

Sunday, OM largely beat AS Saint-Étienne led by Laurent Huard. The technician delivered his analysis of the meeting at a press conference: “The step was high, with the facts of the game it became even higher. This expulsion… we are not going to spread out, there is no VAR… What annoys me is that we are falling into this trap, this game of opposing provocation. There is this player opposite, we know him (Leonardo Balerdi, Editor's note). We are going to take care of our players, but as luck would have it, it falls on him”he declared.

“We gave them even more strength”

Laurent Huard thinks that this had a lot of impact on the match: “We find ourselves playing 70 minutes with ten players against . We're not going to lie to each other, we know they're a good team and we gave them even more strength. At half-time, the talk was that we would only have two or three balls in the area and that we would have to be efficient to achieve an exploit. We got them, these balloons, the situation of Cheikh Fall leaves us with regrets. We often talk about the third goal in a match and this one, at 2-1, could have changed the scenario. »

Laurent Huard will be replaced by Eirik Horneland after the break. The Norwegian has work to do.
