How Morocco optimizes collective lands

Responding to a parliamentary question, Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior, said that his department has mobilized approximately 12,000 hectares of collective land spread over the prefectures and provinces of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region in favor of investment. In total, 1,042 hectares were mobilized, including 384 hectares subdivided and 233 hectares rented through rental contracts, in addition to the legal regularization of approximately 3,150 hectares of illegally exploited land were mobilized in the province of Sidi Kacem.

In total, 2,296 hectares have been reserved for agricultural investment, distributed in several phases in the province of Sidi Slimane. In 2021, 29 plots, covering an area of ​​689.78 hectares, were leased for investment projects in progress, the minister said, adding that the files relating to the mobilization of an additional 1,424 hectares are still under examination.

In the province of Khemisset, 1,615 hectares have been allocated to the implementation of 15 investment projects of an agricultural and commercial nature in the province of Khemisset, while 6,200 hectares of urban and peri-urban land have been mobilized for the benefit of public actors. and private in the province of Kenitra. Laftit also indicated that 286 rental requests, concerning an area of ​​7,411 hectares, were examined. 173 applications, representing 5,997 hectares, were approved, while 2,357.34 hectares were transferred.
