A French television culture presenter is dead: Maïté, famous for her cooking shows and her outspokenness, has died at the age of 86.

Originally from the village of Rion-des-Landes, Maïté loved generous and authentic cuisine. She is best known for his show The Musketeers' Kitchenwhich was broadcast on France 3 from 1983 to 1991 then for At the tablefrom 1997 to 1999, on the same channel. Marie-Thérèse Ordonez started her career as an announcer for the SNCF: she warned railway workers of the approach of a train with a trumpet in her hand. Then she was spotted by television while filming a report in a rugby club in Rion-des-Landes. It was in 1983.

In his Landes village, Maïté will open two restaurants : in 1988 “Le Relais des Landes” and then “Chez Maïté”. It will be closed in the mid-2010s. But she didn't stop at gastronomy.
