Several traffic accidents caused significant slowdowns in Île-de-France this Friday, December 20. More than 450 kilometers of traffic jams have been recorded by Sytadin.
While many Ile-de-France residents are preparing to hit the road to join their families for the Christmas holidays, a significant accumulation of traffic jams was noted on the roads of Île-de-France this Friday, December 20.
According to the Sytadin barometer, more than 450 kilometers of traffic jams were recorded around 6 p.m., representing exceptional traffic for this time of day, when traffic jams average just over 300 km.
On the ring road, traffic is extremely slow on certain sections. Several incidents have been reported, including a vehicle broken down on the A14 in the Paris-province direction, between La Défense and the D7.
Several close incidents
The southern sector of the department was hit by incidents in a short period of time. Around 4 p.m., two light vehicles broke down on the A13 and the A12, still in the direction of Paris-province.
On the exterior A86, traffic is also very disrupted due to an accident involving 3 light vehicles on three lanes between Choisy-le-Roi and Créteil Pompadour. Shortly before and further south of the department, another accident took place, but this time on the internal N104. More precisely, between Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois and Saint-Michel-sur-Orge. A light vehicle was involved and the right lane had to be closed.
To the north, near Pontoise, a vehicle broke down on the A15, near ERAGNY in the direction of Pontoise-Centre. An accident also took place, still on the A15, in the direction of Paris-province. In the northwest of the department, an accident also took place on the A104.
This Friday, the start day of the Christmas holidays, Bison futé had planned a red day in Île-de-France in the direction of departures. Saturday will be classified orange in the direction of departures in Île-de-France.
