Riccardo Simonetti has done it again: After his dream wedding in Mallorca, the presenter has now said “I want” again – and got married in a civil ceremony.

“Now also on paper,” announced Riccardo Simonetti, 31, beaming with joy on Instagram on Friday, December 20, 2024. The presenter has now given his great love, Steven, a civil ceremony. In August, the couple celebrated their big wedding in Mallorca, the entertainer's adopted home.

A civil wedding is not a given for Riccardo Simonetti

The smiles of the newly married couple cannot be overlooked: with shining eyes and big grins on their lips, Simonetti and his husband pose in front of a wonderful winter backdrop on Friday after they were officially registered as a married couple at the registry office.

“Words cannot describe how happy we are that we can now be husband and wife before the law and on paper. I consciously write because it is still not a given that two men are allowed to get married. Even in Germany This has only been possible since 2017 and I am very happy that my husband and I have now had the chance to make our love official [sic]”, emphasizes the television presenter in a post on Instagram.

For his grandmother: Moderator was married in his German homeland

Unlike their big wedding in August, the civil marriage did not take place in Spain, but in snowy southern Germany. It was particularly important to Simonetti that his grandmother, whom he affectionately calls “Nonna”, could attend the wedding – and so the summer party was followed by a very intimate ceremony in the middle of his snow-covered home of Bad Reichenhall.

One of the most important guests for Simonetti: his grandmother, also called “Nonna”.

“Although it may be a little unusual, we decided to have our free wedding before our civil wedding because we didn't want to feel married when we stood together at the altar. And what can I say: it was perfect for us the right thing and it was especially nice to feel a bit of wedding magic again after you've already had the big wedding behind you [sic]”, explains Riccardo Simonetti. Heartwarming words that are perfectly accompanied by the touching photos that were taken that day.
