The two attorneys general had requested sentences ranging from one year to sixteen years in prison against them.
16 years in prison for two relatives of the attacker
Naïm Boudaoud, 22, and Azim Epsirkhanov, 23, the two “friends” of the professor's killer, were notably found guilty of complicity in murder and both sentenced to 16 years of criminal imprisonment. 14 years in prison with a two-thirds security period and 16 years in prison with a two-thirds security period were respectively requested against them.
Azim Epsirkhanov was accused of having helped Abdoullakh Anzorov, an 18-year-old Chechen radical Islamist, to obtain weapons, while Naïm Boudaoud was accused of having led him to the area around the college on October 16, 2020. Both, however, affirmed at the hearing that they were completely unaware of their friend's murderous intentions and never stopped proclaiming their innocence.
The six other defendants were all being prosecuted for criminal terrorist association. Yusuf Cinar, Ismaël Gamaev, Louqmane Ingar, all aged 22, and Priscilla Mangel, 36, the only woman accused, presented by the prosecution as members of the “jihadosphere” which gravitated around Abdoullakh Anzorov on the social networks, all denied, with the exception of Ismaël Gamaev, being involved in the assassination of the professor.
A year in prison for publicly advocating terrorism was requested against Yusuf Cinar. Ten months in prison, with a probationary suspension of 3 years, with an obligation to work and to undergo therapeutic monitoring had been requested against Priscilla Mangel.
Concerning Louqmane Ingar, 3 years in prison were required, including two years with a probationary suspension. For Ismaël Gamaev, 5 years of imprisonment were required, including 18 months suspended.
Brahim Chnina, the father of the schoolgirl who relayed lies about Samuel Paty, is sentenced to 13 years in prison. 10 years in prison were requested against Brahim Chnina with a security period set at two-thirds of the sentence, with permanent ban from French territory. And finally, 12 years of criminal imprisonment were required against Abdelhakim Sefrioui with a security period set at two-thirds of the sentence and with socio-judicial monitoring of 8 years.
