Météo France has announced a yellow alert for strong winds until 2 p.m. this Friday, December 20, 2024 in the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes. Firefighters have responded to 20 incidents in the Var since last night, while 1,200 homes in the Var were without electricity at the end of the morning today.
In Toulon, a 21-year-old young woman was slightly injured.
Fires brush, falling trees, electrical incidents and roof damage occurred. LInterventions include damaged power lines, a collapsed chimney and a risk of being uprooted at the Grand Var Est shopping center.
