An individual was arrested in Cannes after insulting and threatening police officers while smoking cannabis. The city’s LR mayor David Lisnard announced his intention to evict him from the social housing he occupies with his family.
The mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, would like to evict from his social housing the family of a person accused of having threatened and insulted police officers. On X, the LR member relayed the report of an intervention by the municipal police on the evening of December 17, 2024.

These police officers crossed paths with three people, one of whom “taunted them by smoking cannabis”. He filmed himself insulting the officers and threatened them several times, according to the report. The police therefore proceeded to arrest the individual “by using force”. He then allegedly shouted to attract attention while continuing to insult the police. “Several people, including his father, tried to help him by threatening us,” the police reported, explaining that they still managed to arrest the suspect.

According to Nice-Morningthe individual occupies social housing in Cannes with his family. Still on X, David Lisnard confirms that he will “request the eviction of this individual and his family from their social housing”. Then he joked about the conviction of the individual considered too light.
