Mundo Deportivo reported last month that Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Atalanta’s Ederson, joining Juventus in pursuing the midfielder. Now, another Premier League club is stepping into the mix.
According to the Spanish outlet, Atalanta has set a firm €60 million price tag for Ederson and has no plans to lower their demands.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg shared earlier this month that Manchester United are also in talks about signing Ederson. The midfielder is highly rated by the club, which is looking to strengthen its midfield options and could make a move during the winter transfer window.
Man Utd appear to take transfer lead for Ederson
On Thursday, Plettenberg reported an update on this file, noting that Ederson is among the top candidates Manchester United are seriously considering for their central midfield. While some key figures at the club are fully convinced of his potential, there isn’t unanimous agreement yet. As a result, no formal negotiations have begun at this stage.
Manchester United have done their homework, though, scouting him extensively and gathering all necessary details. The Atalanta midfielder is under contract until 2027, with a valuation between €50 million and €60 million.
This season, the Brazilian has played in all 18 matches across various competitions, contributing two goals and an assist.
