A prominent Fortnite leaker has revealed that Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper, two skins that haven’t been seen in the item shop for over seven years, may be returning to the game. In the past, Epic Games has tried to appease fans who own such cosmetics by giving them extra styles exclusive to “OG players.” However, that doesn’t seem to be happening with Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper.
After launching Chapter 6 Season 1 of the popular battle royale in early December, Epic Games launched several new modes titled Ballistic, Fortnite ANDand Brick Life. The throwback mode Fortnite AND was an immediate success, transporting players back to what the game was like when it first released in September 2017. New and returning players flocked to the mode out of both curiosity and nostalgia.

Since the cosmetics haven’t been seen since December 13, 2017, many fans are shocked by the sudden turn of events. While these were not battle pass skins with a promise of exclusivity, some players expected Epic Games to treat these cosmetics similarly out of respect for its original fans who played in 2017. However, with the recent release of Fortnite ANDit seems Epic Games wants to give players another chance to purchase these old cosmetics. This isn’t the first controversial change to come from Fortnite ANDas many fans were recently upset that Epic Games enabled skill-based matchmaking in the popular mode.

On the flip side, some fans have expressed immense excitement about the return of the old skins and say they plan on buying them immediately. This isn’t the first time the fanbase has been divided recently, and many fans had strong opinions about the collaboration between Fortnite and Skibidi Toilet.
While some fans are vexed by the return of old skins, many are focused on the new cosmetics coming to the game in the near future. ShiinaBR also leaked that Fortnite will release crossovers with Cyberpunk 2077DC Comics, and Mariah Carey during the game’s Winterfest event. With so much happening in the game recently, many fans feel enthusiastic about the future of Fortnite.
