The rates of car civil liability insurance could have been reduced by up to 10-15% for certain categories of insured persons, in the absence of capping of rates, claims the president of the National Union of Insurance Brokerage and Consultancy Companies, Dorel Duţă. Present at a specialized conference, he emphasized that it is about those segments of insured that any insurance company wants.

Dorel Duţă: “It is obvious that when there is competition and when the market is free, certain companies, depending on their commercial policy, depending on the level of involvement they want to have in a market, on certain segments – and here we are talking about segments with less damage, we are talking about those segments where the mileage of the car is lower, where you drive fewer kilometers, where you have the maximum bonus class – it is clear, everyone will want these clients.

And how can you get more customers, how can you reach them? Because it is mandatory insurance, the price will count here. And then, if you want that mass of customers, you have to offer something. You offer services, but you also have to come with a better price. But if at this moment you are capped, why did you change the commercial policy, if you don’t know what will happen in three months?”

In Dorel Duţă’s opinion, policyholders from these categories could have benefited from lower, more interactive tariffs, and could have negotiated the price of the policy depending on their personal history – RRA reporter Iulian Olescu told us./editor Florin Lepadatu/
