It’s a tradition well anchored in the north-west of France, particularly in Normandy. Before or during the end-of-year holidays, agricultural unions organize parades of illuminated tractors.
The principle is basic, everyone who has a tractor is invited to join the parade by decorating their machines with light garlands.
From 7 p.m.
A tradition taken up in certain departments of Occitanie recentlylike theAriège since last year. Friday December 20, 2024this parade will be organized for the first time in Tarn. In Albi
It is the Young Farmers of the canton of Albi who are at the origin of this parade which will begin at 7 p.m. “Local products and many other surprises await you,” the agricultural union also promises.
Also in Aveyron or Ariège
An event of course free and open to all. The route of the tractors has not yet been revealed.
The tradition in any case seems to be taking off well in Occitania, since such a parade will also be organized between Lauzerte and Montaubanin Tarn-et-Garonne, on December 22. In Aveyron, it will be Saint-Saturnin-de-LenneDecember 21.
In Ariège, it will be from Pamiers to Foix via Varilhes on December 20.
While perhaps waiting for new parades in 2026 in other departments…
