Champions Trophy, insulting chants… supporters of both teams protested… but for different reasons

During the match between AS Monaco and PSG, supporters of both clubs protested in the stands of the Louis-II stadium but for different reasons. The Monegasques deplore the organization of this match as well as the attitude of the LFP and Qatar. While the Parisians advocated freedom of expression after the warnings following the events against last weekend.

This clash between AS Monaco and Saint-Germain (to be followed live with commentary on RMC) will also have been lively in the stands. Given the strange context surrounding the organization of this match, the Monaco Ultras wanted to express their dissatisfaction with this situation. This is why the Ultras Monaco 94 went on strike during the first ten minutes of the match to protest against the organization of the Champions Trophy in Qatar and, consequently, against the rescheduling of this Monaco-PSG this Wednesday evening. In addition, some standards were deployed targeting the Professional League (LFP) and Qatar.

PSG supporters protest for “freedom of expression”

Parisian supporters, numerous in the stands of the Louis-II stadium, also protested but not for the same reasons as their Monegasque counterparts. Warned after the events that occurred during the match against Lyon, the Parisian ultras observed five minutes of silence in Monaco. A demonstration to advocate “freedom of expression”.

The two teams will meet again on January 5, in Doha, Qatar, for the Champions Trophy.
