Four years later, the children have grown up and left to make their own lives. But they remain attentive to their parents who are depressed by empty nests. To prevent their daily lives from turning into a routine or from becoming depressed, they have a surprise in store for them. They entered them into a competition to… go to the Moon! And imagine that they were selected by the European Space Agency for the mission in question. So here are the Bouleys and the Lepics ready to send themselves into orbit with the aim of being the first civilians to set foot on lunar soil.
The European Space Agency involved
Broadcast on France 2 this Wednesday evening, this second special series of Don’t do this, don’t do that may seem a little “olé olé” with this story of the conquest of space. The fact remains that the production team did not take things lightly. The European Space Agency, the real one!, was involved in writing the script but also during filming. The ESA advised the actors, in particular to explain to them how to move in a spaceship and how to deal with weightlessness. A guarantee of seriousness in what is proposed.
Guillaume de Tonquédec, from Molière to Monsieur Lepic
A real astronaut was even seconded to provide his expertise. This is the Frenchman Jean-François Clervoy, 33 years of experience and three space missions to his credit. Two aboard the space shuttle Atlantis, one with Discovery. In total, he spent 28 days in space.
Footage was also filmed in the real ESA spaceflight control room!
A risky bet
The decision to send Lepic and Bouley into the stars risks destabilizing more than one fan. Indeed, we are far from the original concept of the series which featured two families with diametrically opposed lifestyles. Guillaume de Tonquédec, however, justifies the choice of this surprising scenario. At Pointhe declares: “We have already done almost everything and the bar has been set very high, so why risk disappointing? It’s a small risk each time, we only have shots to take. We wouldn’t have accepted if there hadn’t been a great initial idea.”. He adds: “The public is open and wants to be surprised.”.
Bruno Salomone: “People don’t suspect what’s behind Denis Bouley”
A risky bet therefore, especially since it is a double episode, but it allows us to find our favorite bobos and bourgeois who remain as endearing as ever.
