Launch of 17Cyber, one-stop shop for digital threats

The site 17Cybera one-stop shop accessible online to victims of cybercrimewas put online on Tuesday December 17, 2024. It now allows direct contact with the Police and the Gendarmerie.

17Cyber, a single entry point for victims

“It is a platform which is aimed at all victims of digital crimes”, citizens, administrations or businesses, explained the DGPN Louis Laugier, by presenting the device.

The site, accessible at the address 17cyber.gouv.frwas developed by the “Cybermalveillance” public interest group, of theNational IT Systems Security Agency (Anssi)the Police and the Gendarmerie. It aims to become the first centralized access point dedicated to victims of: computer hacking, online extortion attempts, cyberharassment, or any other act of cybermaliciousness.

Assistance et diagnostic

With a personalized online diagnosis, the 17Cyber ​​guides users according to the situation encountered. The platform can redirect users to already existing devices: Pharos (illicit online content), Perceval (fraudulent use of bank cards, Theseus (internet scams). It also puts you in contact with police officers and gendarmes, with the possibility of starting legal proceedings, and a connection with listed private providers.

Specially trained police officers and gendarmes will be available to interact online with users and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In total, 45 police officers and 39 gendarmes (then 58 from the start of 2025) will be involved but will not will not be entirely dedicated to 17Cyber.

In 2023, nearly 280,000 digital-related offenses were recorded by security forces, specifies the Ministry of the Interior. The launch of the platform comes almost three years after Emanuel Macron’s announcement of the establishment of a digital equivalent of “call 17”.
