Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is on Amazon Prime Video and the quirky competition series features Harry Potter stars James and Oliver Phelps as the hosts. Along the way they will be joined by some of their former co-stars, including their on-screen sister.
Bonnie Wright played Ginny Weasley in the film series and she will be on hand to evaluate the contestants’ marvellous creations. The actress will also be sharing some of her favourite memories from filming the movies.
The 33-year-old star was born in London and she made her acting debut in the Harry Potter films. Outside of acting, she has gained recognition for her environmental activism.
Bonnie is the second child of Sheila Teague and Gary Wright, who own the jewelry company Wright & Teague. Growing up on the set of Harry Potter, she developed a love of filmmaking.
Her elder brother had read the first two books in the series and told her she reminded him of Ginny Weasley. She did not have any prior professional experience and asked her mum if she could audition “on a whim”.
She was just nine years old when she made her first appearance in the Philosopher’s Stone.
In 2012 she founded her own film production company, BonBonLumiere, and has directed a number of projects.
The star, who had moved to San Diego, had previously been engaged to Harry Potter co-star Jamie Campbell Bower.
The pair were together from April 2011 to June 2012, with Campbell Bower telling The Daily at the time: “I am engaged. I’m very happy It’s a wonderful, wonderful time.”
In March 2022, Bonnie revealed on her Instagram account she had married her longtime boyfriend, Andrew Lococo.
Sharing a photo of her ring, she said: “Yesterday was the best day of my life thanks to my husband!!”
In April the following year, she revealed they were expecting their first child and in September she gave birth to a son.
Posting a picture of the newborn, she opened up about her homebirth experience as Elio Ocean Wright Lococo was born.
She continued: “We’re all healthy and happy. Andrew and I are so in love with our son! So grateful for our birth team that have held our hands throughout and made the journey so joyous and expanding.”
