Arnie is coming to town.
Arnold Schwarzenegger left some fans worried about his health after being spotted in New York on Tuesday looking not like his usual self. However, the star had a holly jolly reason for the change in his appearance.
Consternation began to brew after photos and videos circulated online showing the action star, 77, wearing a holiday sweater and sporting a bushy grey beard and grey hair that was longer than his usual ‘do.
In one video posted on X, Schwarzenegger was seen walking slowly alongside his bodyguards.
Some online commented on how much older the “Terminator” star looked, with several accounts claiming fans said Schwarzenegger “aged 200 years in 2 months.”
However, many fans were quick to point out that Arnold changed up his look because of a new movie he is filming.
In “The Man with the Bag,” the former California governor plays Santa Claus opposite “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson, 42.
Nonetheless, many believed Schwarzenegger was showing the signs of his age. One person commented that the star is “definitely slowing down.”
“The way he is walking suggests his 77 years are catching up to him,” another wrote.
Still others came to Schwarzenegger’s defense.
“He’s 77 years old…and doing better than most his age,” a fan commented.
“Hes [sic] getting ready for a movie, that’s why he looks like that!,” said another.
“The Man with the Bag” follows Santa as he tries to retrieve his magic bag that was stolen from him, even going so far as to seek out the help of a former thief in his quest to save Christmas.
The movie will mark Schwarzenegger’s first film since 2019’s “Terminator: Dark Fate.” It will also be his first holiday flick since he appeared in 1996’s “Jingle All The Way.”
The actor shared his excitement about “The Man with the Bag” in an Instagram post on Monday.
“Santa Claus is coming to town! It is fantastic to be shooting The Man with the Bag with @alanritchson,” Schwarzenegger captioned a photo of him on set alongside Ritchson.
The star went on to praise the film’s director Adam Shankman as “one of the funniest directors I’ve worked with.”
He also showed NYC some love, writing, “New York City is an amazing host.”
“I can’t wait to share all of this Christmas cheer with each and every one of you,” he concluded.
Shankman, 60, also posted about the movie on Instagram. “Let the reindeer games begin,” he wrote alongside a photo of him, Schwarzenegger and Ritchson.
