Poker at Cagliari, Juve in the Italian Cup quarterfinals with Empoli

ORINO (ITALPRESS) – Mission accomplished: at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus coached by Thiago Motta beat Cagliari 4-0 in the round of 16 of the Italian Cup and will face Empoli in the quarterfinals. A match in which the Bianconeri, title holders, suffered at the start and then went out at a distance. It was the same Vlahovic who broke the deadlock in the match in the 44th minute of the first half, having given Juventus a draw against Venezia in the 16th round of the championship last Saturday. The Serbian, who after the match against the lagoon players had been the protagonist of a long-distance spat first with a fan guilty of having threatened him with death and then with the entire Curva Sud, today made peace with his fans. “An isolated gesture does not erase the past, you have always been respected by us. Juventus DV9 and ultras united until the end”, the banner displayed outside the stadium by the organized fans to which the player responded on the field with a beautiful goal: with his back to the goal, he received the ball from Yildiz, turned and with the left foot he struck the immobile Scuffet at the far post. At the start it was Di Gregorio who prevented the evening from getting complicated: after less than a minute, the goalkeeper denied the goal to Lapadula who had tried with a first-time shot from the center of the area. In the 36th minute, however, the aforementioned Scuffet denied Conceicao’s powerful goal with a plastic save. Eight minutes into the second half it was Koopmeiners who doubled the lead with a masterpiece of a free kick: from 25 meters he curled a trajectory that found its way to Scuffet’s far right. Ten minutes from the end it was Conceicao who scored the hat trick: after a series of flare-ups that didn’t materialize, the Portuguese number seven took center stage and beat the goalkeeper with a diagonal left-footed shot that went into the far post. Poker and closing credits in the 44th minute when Nico Gonzalez scored who, after speeding away to Augello, overcame Scuffet with a lob on the way out.
